Collective Assets Supporting Amador (CASA)
Amador Valley PTSA offers families the opportunity to make a cash donation in addition to or in lieu of participating in smaller fundraisers throughout the year. While the smaller fundraisers have been highly successful, they have been labor-intensive and do not yield 100% profit for our school.
By making a direct cash donation to the CASA progrram, the entire amount is applied to the school and it also can be tax deductible for the donor. Donations to this program may be made at any time throughout the year. You may specify where to apply your donated funds by choosing any departments from the following list.
- 1. Amador Library - Funds will be used to acquire books, databases, and equipment that support all curricular areas, reading levels, and interests. To date we only have 12 books per student. Our goal is to reach the national average of 20 current books per student.
- 2. Visual & Performing Arts Department - Funds will be used to support the ceramics, photography, visual arts, video production, and drama classes throughout the school year. This will allow the Visual & Performing Arts Department to purchase supplemental materials that will enhance the curriculum, and allow for more creative and challenging student projects.
- 3. Technology - Amador has over 500 computers that students and teachers use on a daily basis. Many of these are considered obsolete and are not able to support current software. This fund will be used to replace, upgrade, and maintain this equipment in addition to purchasing many other technology accessories that will enhance student learning and teacher productivity.
- 4. Science Department – Funds would provide for capital equipment purchases such as a Photo Imaging System for DNA analysis, and an autoclave for equipment sterilization for use in the biotechnology and biology programs. Additional state-of-the-art equipment would be purchased for the anatomy & physiology, physics, chemistry, and physical science classes, as required to fully support the curriculum at Amador.
- 5. Crisis & Caring – This program would be used to support AVHS students and their families in times of crisis. Funds will be used to purchase items such as school supplies, bus passes, school clothes, PE uniforms, food vouchers and other critical needs.
- 6. General Fund/Grant Requests – Fund teacher and staff requests for classroom material and programs, student projects, and capital equipment for Amador Valley.
Your donation is strictly optional; however, the suggested donation is $75 per student. Based on a 180-day school year, that is a mere 42 cents per day; less than the cost of a cup of coffee!
The check should be made payable to Amador Valley PTSA. Please mail your tax-deductible donation to: Amador Valley High School, Attention: PTSA /CASA PROGRAM. Your quick response allows us to meet the needs of our students during this current school year. Here's the form to fill out.
Does your workplace match voluntary contributions to the non-profit organization of your choice? We can provide you with the necessary paperwork to double your contribution to the CASA program.
